How to Treat Inflamed Pimples
Inflamed pimples not only hurt, they are also not nice to look at. You should take countermeasures and treat the pimple as soon as possible. We explain what helps now!
Home remedy for inflamed pimples
- Tea tree oil: Has an anti-inflammatory effect and helps with acne. However, if you have sensitive skin, be careful: Under certain circumstances, skin irritations can become noticeable. In this case, wash the oil off thoroughly after 15 minutes at the latest, otherwise you can leave it to work overnight and wash it off the next morning.
- Aloe Vera: The plant sap of an Aloe Vera is said to help with inflammation. If you have an aloe vera plant, you can cut off a leaf and dab the sap onto the affected area with clean hands. This is best done twice a day for a week.
- Peppermint oil: The oil has a disinfecting effect and contracts the pores. However, it may only be used selectively and is best dabbed on with a cotton swab. Caution: Do not apply it near the mucous membranes, nose or eyes, as it has a strong irritant effect.
- Lemon juice: Has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect, but can also be very irritating to the skin. Therefore it should only be applied selectively and diluted with water. Use a cotton swab for application. Let the lemon juice work overnight. But be careful: the acid must not be used on open wounds.
Attention: In general, you should not apply the respective products over a large area, otherwise normal skin may become irritated or dried out!
- Healing clay: Healing earth used as a face mask absorbs excess sebum and thus helps to cleanse blocked pores. To do this, mix the healing clay according to the package instructions and apply it to your clean face. Now the mask should remain on your face for up to half an hour and then rinse off with warm water.
- Steam baths are another possible treatment option: they help to open the pores and allow the sebum to drain off better. To do this, add some chamomile to the steam bath and carry out the steam bath for 15 minutes with a towel over your head. The antiseptic effect of chamomile helps to reduce inflammation in the skin.
Inflamed pimples: You have to pay attention to this
- In any case, keep your hands off the pimple: Pushing it around only makes things worse! If you do try to squeeze the pimple, all you will achieve is that the focus of the inflammation and the sebum spread further and possibly penetrate deeper into the tissue. In addition, the surface of the skin becomes irritated and other bacteria under the fingernails get into the wound. As a result, the inflammation becomes worse, the pimple becomes larger, swells further, reddens even more and hurts more. No wonder that the spot will now take much longer to heal!
- Only use make-up that is especially suitable for impure skin.
- Avoid stress!
- Change pillow, towel and washcloth regularly, as bacteria can be present.
- If you have impure skin, you should avoid coconut oil and olive oil pure as a skin care product, as it also blocks the pores.
How inflamed pimples develop
Inflamed pimples are usually a pore with a deep-seated constipation and contamination. This can be caused by make-up, sebum, bacteria and sweat. In general, people who suffer from inflamed pimples have impure skin. Blackheads, pimples or, in extreme cases, even acne are not uncommon in impure skin. Blackheads are generally caused by excessive sebum production. If the blackheads become inflamed as bacteria penetrate, a pimple develops, which in most cases causes pus to form. Acne is a very pronounced form of inflamed nodules caused by hormones. This explains why acne is particularly common during puberty, when hormones go out of balance.
However, the hair plucking can also cause inflammation in the skin. Likewise, ingrown hairs are a possible cause of inflamed areas on the skin.
